Warren Colburn was born in Dedham, Massachusetts on the 1st of March 1793. He graduated with honors from Harvard College in 1820 and then taught mathematics, publishing numerous mathematics textbooks. He was the Superintendent of the Boston Manufacturing Company and the Merrimac Manufacturing Company. He died 13 September 1833 in Lowell, Massachusetts.
