Nella Larson

Nella Larson (1891-1964) was an acclaimed novelist of the Harlem Renaissance and first African-American woman to win a Guggenheim Fellowship. Her first novel, Quicksand (1928) was about the struggles and strife involved in being of mixed races in America.
