Children's Books Illustrations

Walter Crane (1845-1915) was an English artist and book illustrator, best known for his children's books illustrations.

Randolph Caldecott (1846-1886) was an English artist and illustrator, born in Chester. He is best known for his many children's books illustrations. The Caldecott medal for children's illustrations was named for him.

Catherine (Kate) Greenaway (1846-1901) was a Victorian era British children's book illustrator and writer, whose work influenced the children's style of the day.  Between 1867 and 1879 she illustrated over 30 children's books.  Her work was also pirated, as shown below.

John R. Neill (1877-1943) was an American illustrator, best kown for his illustrations in 42 of L. Frank Baum's Oz books.  He also contributed illustrations to popular magazines at the time. The illustrations for this book were done while he was living in Philadelphia and working for the popular journal, The Philadelphia North American.
