On April 1, 2013, Dr. John M. Anderson became the 14th president of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, following the retirement of Francine G. McNairy. Prior to coming to Millersville he was President of Alfred State College, Alfred, N.Y. During his tenure the new dorm suites were built as was the net-zero energy Samuel N. and Dena M. Lombardo Welcome Center. In 2017 he announced that we would retire on 1 March 2018. In early 2018 it was announced that his date of retirement had been extended to 29 June 2018.
