Andre Brown is originally from Philadelpha with family ties to both Philadelphia and Puerto Rico. He attended Millersville University for computer science.
Fran Rodriguez was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She lived in Puerto Rico for a few years with family and relocated to Lancaster as a junior in high school. She considers Lancaster her home and has founded and worked for multiple community initiatives.
Laura Brito was born in the Dominican Republic and came to the United States with family. She attended Millersville University for government and political affairs.
Jacinta Sanchez came to Millersville initially for the music program. She grew up participating in choirs as an alto singer and has found afinity and inspiration through being involved in choir and music groups.
Marti Pawlikoski was born in Mexico and Migrated to Chicago, United States with her family in 1957. She was the first Latin American and Mexican student at her school. She attended college majoring in education and Spanish and moved to Buffalo, New York. Her first job was at the Chcago Boys Club Association and also earned her masters at the same time. She has worked at the Lancaster public library and is an active part of her community.
Pedro Rivera at the time of the interview in 2011 was superintendent of the school district of Lancaster. In 2015 he was nominated and served Pennsyllvania Govener Tom Wolf as the Secretary of the Department of education. In 2020 he resigned as his position under Wolf to become the President of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
Vanessa's family is originally from Mexico with her father being from Jalisco. Vanessa was born and raised in Washington D.C and attended Millersville for Sociology.
Patricia came to the U.S as a child from the Dominican Republic to New York and then moved to Reading. She graduated from Millersville with her Bachelors in economics.
Miriam is originally from Puerto Rico but was raised in the Bronx, NY. She later relocated to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She is a proud mother of six children.
Sharon Watson is originally from Panama and takes pride in her culture and heritage. She was previously employed by Millersville University and has since worked as a constable and has also run for district magisterial judge in Lancaster County.
Abigail attended Millersville Unniversity for her undergraduate and graduated in 2009. She is a part of the Latino Vision foundation. Abigail places her values in the emphasis of neighboors and community.
Sandra Aguilera studied communications and public relations at Millersville University graduating in May 2011. Her family is originally from Guanajuato, Mexico with her father being a migrant worker. She has a passion for care and health advocacy.
